We are pleased to share new updates to the Video Indexing Report on Search Console, which launched last July, to help users understand the performance of their videos on Google and identify potential areas for improvement. One of these updates is a video impressions overlay feature which shows the number of daily video impressions over time in the Video Indexing Report. Impressions are aggregated by page, so if a page appears multiple times in one search result or Discover session, each appearance is counted as an impression. The Search Performance report groups video search appearances by property rather than by URL, so if multiple pages show up in a search result, only one impression will be counted. As such, this report may show lower impression counts than the Video Page Indexing Report.
The Google Search Console Video Indexing Report has just been upgraded with a new feature: the Sitemap filter, allowing users to focus on the video pages that matter most. This filter applies to all the report features: the chart, chart totals, issue list, and exports.
The Impressions overlay in the Video Indexing Report has also been updated to provide more information about how videos perform on Search. Users can now easily filter out any irrelevant data and hone in on what matters most for their website.
